The Portishead natural environment includes the coastline of the Bristol Channel, the Lake Grounds, Slade Road playing fields, Weston Big Wood, the Golf Course, Merlin Park, the Rhynes and many other green spaces.

We are fortunate to have a fantastic natural local environment which is essential for the health of our residents.

The Portishead Neighbourhood plan can help protect our natural environment including biodiversity, watercourses and trees from potential damage from pollution, carbon emissions and flood risk. The plan will seek to ensure that any new developments complement the established character of Portishead, particularly our heritage assets and wonderful views, harmoniously bringing together our built and natural environment.
