Community assets

Community assets is the term we are using for all the community and recreational facilities essential for providing the health, welfare, social, educational, spiritual, recreational, leisure and cultural needs of a community.

The Portishead Neighbourhood plan can include policies to encourage new facilities, mainly if there is an identified provision gap. For example, planning policies can direct future Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL*) monies towards providing new or enhanced facilities.

We have provided a reference map of some existing community facilities here:

If you know of any other facilities, please let us know by answering the survey questions.

Before we can put together any policies, we must provide evidence of existing facilities, how adequate they are and the demand for new facilities. Please help us do this by completing the short survey below.

*CIL payments are paid by developers when new houses are built; the monies raised go to help fund local infrastructure.

What do you think of our existing community facilities? What other facilities do we need?
